The Morning Ledger: CFOs Head for the Exits

More CFOs are opting for early retirement. At the nation’s 1,000 largest companies, 56 CFOs have retired so far this year — up from 33 in all of last year. And about 1 in 5 of those CFOs was 55 or younger, pulling the average retirement age down to 59 from 62 last year, CFOJ’s Maxwell Murphy writes in today’s Marketplace section. Big-name CFO departures this year include Brian Rice of Royal Caribbean Cruises, Gretchen Haggerty of U.S. Steel and Charles McLane of Alcoa.
