More CFOs Choose to Retire Early

At the nation’s 1,000 largest companies, 56 CFOs have retired so far this year, up sharply from 33 in all of last year. Roughly 1 in 5 of the CFOs who have chosen to retire this year was 55 or younger, pulling the average retirement age down to 59 from 62 last year. Job stress may account for part of the phenomenon.
